Editor's Corner

Welcome to the Spring 2004 online edition of Aikido East. We are very thankful for the support that you continue to show for this newsletter. As you can see from the counter, we are approaching 10,000 viewers and we look forward to your continued feedback and suggestions.

The aikido community has suffered a great loss this winter with the passing of Kanai Sensei. New England Aikikai has asked me to put a link to their home page to keep you informed of their efforts to collect stories, thoughts and photographs. Please check their site regularly or email them at www.neaikikai.org if you would like to contribute.

I did want to make you all aware of an important item concerning internet viruses. I receive multiple emails each day which I believe to be viruses. These come in the form of an attachment, which I do not open. If you plan to send me an attachment, please make sure you have first explained everything in the text part of the message, or I will not open it. I think many of our email address have been put on a virus list, because I receive some from individuals within the USAF as well as dojos. And I know that this editor email address is also sending them out because I receive return messages saying "errors, unable to send". So just be aware and be careful as you open your emails. I will always respond to any email you send, so if you do not hear back from me please follow-up to make sure I received your message.

One of the consistent comments I hear about the newsletter is how much people enjoy the photographs. When you attend a seminar and take pictures, please take a moment to send them to me. Also, I would like to have at least 2 kamiza/dojo pictures for each edition, so share your dojo with us!

We are still trying to compile an accurate list of email address of USAF Eastern Region dojos, so remember to let us know if and when your address changes: editor@aikidoeast.com.

The next edition will be online September 15th 2004, so take notes, take pictures and stay in touch!
