Editor's Corner
Welcome to the Fall 2004 online edition of Aikido East. The feedback has been wonderful, and we're glad you're enjoying the newsletter so much.
When you look through this edition, you will notice a couple of changes. For the seminar photos and dojo/kamiza photos, I've included the link, when possible, to the dojo(host dojo) on display. This will enable you to have quick access should you wish to learn more about that dojo. I've also included in each article, with permission, the author's email address. It was suggested to me by John Montes in case a reader would like to follow-up with the author. If you have a more public/general statement, though, please address your comments to me.
You may notice that NY Aikikai's 40th Anniversary Summer Camp is listed three times on the menu under Seminar Photos. Because it was such a huge success and so many people participated, I decided to seperate the pictures into 3 catagories so they would all fit and it wouldn't be difficult to navigate. I included "Class" and "Leisure" pictures because people have always expressed how much they enjoy seeing their friends, or remembering some of the more relaxing moments at camp. And Jaime Kahn, the camp photographer, donated some of his portfolio for all to see, and I thought it was best to keep his pictures separate. I had hundreds of outstanding photographs to chose from, so I hope you enjoy the selection.
Congratulations Sensei and Happy Anniversay!!
Also, in the past I've had some problems compiling an accurate list of Dan Promotions, and have received many complaints because the name a someone who tested did not appear on the list. The only way a name can be included is if Susan and I have received the actual paperwork (test forms and fees) before the next edition is due out. I will always try to fix any error I make, but having received the paperwork will greatly reduce the risk of ommission.
We are still trying to compile an accurate list of email address of USAF Eastern Region dojos, so remember to let us know if and when your address changes: editor@aikidoeast.com.
The next edition will be online January 15th 2004, so take notes, take pictures and stay in touch!
