Q & A with Yamada SenseiQuestion #1 : As I begin to prepare for my First Kyu test, I wonder what is the main thing you would like to say to test candidates. Is it to know the techniques better, or be in better shape? Is there something that applies to everyone? Is there something everyone could do better before a test?
Yamada Sensei : To prepare well for a test it is important to put focus on demonstrating clear openings, and to try to position yourself properly. It's important to keep yourself in good balance before you execute the technique. After you finish the technique you must also remain in good balance. Needless to say, you have to be in good physical shape as well.
