A Message from Yamada Sensei

Yoshimitsu Yamada

We just finished our annual summer camp. It was also an occasion for celebrating New England Aikikai's 40th Anniversary. Many thanks to Sharon Kanai and members of NEA. It was a wonderful summer camp. We all had a good time renewing and making new friendships for the future. This annual summer camp in the North East of the United States will be organized by NEA for the benefit of Kanai Sensei's family. However, it is still your summer camp, and if you have any requests or advice in order to make this summer camp more successful, please feel free to approach me or NEA with your ideas. During camp a meeting with the Board of Directors of the USAF was held. It was a very positive and progressive meeting, focusing on the future of the USAF.

As you may know, the USAF is now unified. We decided to unify as a positive movement for the future of the USAF. Birankai and the Midwest Aikido Federation are now organizations independent of the USAF. However, they are good friends of ours and their members are welcome to any of our activities and our members also will be welcome to attend their activities.

The Technical Committee meeting was also held during summer camp. Included in our agenda was how to conduct examinations, and we are still studying our choices so we can decide on the best method. You'll be informed as soon as we reach the results.

At last, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support.
