Brampton Aikikai's Children's Summer Camp 2007

From August 6th to 9th, 2007, Brampton Aikikai held it's first Aikido Kid's summer camp. It was a great success with eight kids and four instructors participating. There was a great mix of people as some of the kid's were from our regular Aikido Kid's class and others were from other arts. We also had a few novices, a great time was had by all.

Our Dojo, Brampton Aikikai, only started an Aikido Kids class one year ago, so the turnout of kids and the dedication of the volunteers was truly amazing. With Tony Pardo leading the show, and the teaching assistance of Cida Oliviera, Glenn OĠNeil and Dave Foreman , the kids had a great time.

This being the first summer camp held, we did not have any previous camps to gather experience from. This allowed us to set the standard for what we wanted to accomplish. The one thing that guided all the activities was that we wanted the kids to have fun, be safe, and hopefully understand Aikido a little better at the end of the week!
